Frequently Asked Questions

Corporate Prospects sources from the open web. Similar to Large Language Models, Corporate Prospects uses the content from hundreds of millions of corporate websites, press releases, and public registries. One source we DO NOT use is social media, particularly LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is a great source and if you are looking for that type of data there are numerous places to find it. But that is the exact reason we created Corproate Prospects.

  1. LinkedIn isn't a prospect database - it is a networking tool. While LinkedIn may do a great job of reflecting the employees of a company or the students of a school, it does a poor job of identifying the leadership at either.
  2. LinkedIn doesn't represent a majority of the market. Corporate Executives, Blue Collar Workers, Local Businesses, and Government Employees are good examples.
  3. LinkedIn doesn't do local. Companies with multiple locations and delegated decision-making are bundled under the Head Quarters. That just isn't an option for people who are doing field sales and local marketing.
  4. LinkedIn doesn't do new businesses. While there are plenty of tools to identify a new hire or someone who was promoted on LinkedIn, there isn't anything similar for new businesses or new locations.
  5. LinkedIn doesn't provide contact data. Unless you are a first level connection, LinkedIn doesn't provide email addresses and phone numbers.
  6. LinkedIn doesn't want companies using them as a data source. They have sued companies that use them as a data source, removed users who have Chrome extensions, and limit the data available on executives for this exact purpose.

To be clear, we have LinkedIn URLS for both Prospects and Companies because they were found on the Open Web. But Corproate Prospects doesn't use LinkedIn as a data source.

We provide real-time AI Alerts sourced from Press Releases, Local Prospect using POI data, and Corporate Prospects using hundreds of millions of sources from the Open Web.

RampedUp vs Zoominfo - Corporate Prospects sources from the public web, we don't mine our users' inbox to sell their customers' data. Companies that observe privacy legislation like HIPPA / CCPA / GDPR look to Corporate Prospects as a preferred vendor.

RampedUp vs Apollo - Corporate prospects originates data from hundreds of million corporate websites. Apollo relies on LinkedIn - which is cracking down on companies that scrape LinkedIn data by limiting access to decision-makers and removing them from their platform.

We ask all of our users to consult their own legal counsel as our use case is different from our customers. However, Corporate Prospects processes personal data on the following legal bases: GDPR Article 9.2(e) the data was made publicly available by the subject and GDPR Article 6.1(f) as necessary for our legitimate interests in providing the services where those interests do not override fundamental rights and freedom related to data privacy.

No - we have not notified the people in our database nor asked them to opt-in. That is not an obligation in the United States, including California for CCPA. We do comply with the CCPA by respecting any removal request as well as the GDPR.

In accordance with Article 14.5(b)of the GDPR, we do not individually notify every data subject when doing so would involve disproportionate effort, particularly when the data is publicly available and the impact on privacy is minimal.
